Permissions

You can request permission to use a title from Feeding Minds Press to create a StoryWalk®. A StoryWalk® is an innovative and delightful way for children — and adults! — to enjoy reading and the outdoors at the same time.

These walks can take place in a garden, in a green space near a school or a library, on a park trail, on a farm, along a tractor ride road, at a fair or event – anywhere there are people and a place to walk.

You can get creative with your StoryWalk®. You can add a craft station, invite guests and volunteers to stand at certain pages, or end with further learning resources such as word finds.

There are two ways to create a StoryWalk® or book trail:

  1. Buy physical copies of the book. You will need three physical copies of the book to create your trail. Learn more here. To purchase copies of Feeding Mind Press books you can visit Amazon, Barnes and Noble, the Farm Bureau Store, or our distributor at Baker & Taylor Publisher Services.
  2. You can purchase a high-resolution PDF from Feeding Minds Press. If you decide to use the PDF to create signs for your walk, you will be required to sign a guidelines form that ensures you will only use the PDF for your one StoryWalk® or book trail.

If you are interested in purchasing the PDF for this event, please email Julia Recko at juliad@fb.org.

You may also request permission to read a Feeding Minds Press Book aloud online.

Please follow these instructions.

  1. Request permission from Julia Recko at juliad@fb.org
  2. Use a physical copy of the book.
  3. State you have been granted permission by Feeding Minds Press.
  4. Publish your link on a closed system such as Youtube “Unlisted” and take your video down after 30 days.
  5. You can read on Facebook Live or other live streaming channels, but do not save a copy on social media networks.
  6. When possible, link to www.feedingmindspress.com

The StoryWalk® trademark is owned by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and used with permission.
