Accurate Books Require Research

The goal of Feeding Minds Press is to create accurate and engaging books about agriculture. Accuracy is key! That is why we are so grateful to the Georgia Ag in the Classroom and The Dairy Alliance in Georgia for taking illustrator Ward Jenkins on some farm tours.

Ward Jenkins is an accomplished illustrator and animator. He will be working on our upcoming title Tales of the Dairy Godmother: Chuck’s Ice Cream Wish. What better way to get him excited for illustrating cows, than to get him to meet some? That’s where the Georgia Ag in the Classroom and The Dairy Alliance in Georgia come in. These folks organized some awesome dairy farm tours for Ward. This truly shows how the agricultural community wants to come together to help others have an accurate understanding of where their food comes from.

On his tours Ward visited 3 dairy farms - small, medium and large. He asked questions, met cows, saw cows being milked, and learned about animal care and nutrition. We know that with this extra special research Tales of the Dairy Godmother: Chuck’s Ice Cream Wish will be an amazing book to introduce readers to dairy farmers.

So, keep your eye out for more information on Tales of the Dairy Godmother: Chuck’s Ice Cream Wish! We can’t wait to share it with you all.
